In the small Illinois town of Mattoon in the 1940's, bizarre occurrences were taking place. A madman was terrorizing local residents by releasing toxic gasses into homes temporarily paralyzing his victims. The local police blamed hysteria but with over 20 attacks, the townsfolk were rightfully in fear of what would come next.
